Field Trips for Little Buckaroos

Round 'em up and head on out to visit a horse ranch in the Texas hill country near Austin. Field trips for preschool and elementary age children include an introduction to all the animals that make their home at the Little Buckaroo Ranch. Meet a Texas size herd of miniature horses and ponies. Young cowboys and cowgirls will get a glimpse of a ranch hand's life and learn the wrangler’s vocabulary describing the conformation and markings of horses. Enjoy a snack after helping with the barnyard routine. Then rub round & round with a curry comb to groom one of the smallest of the Little Buckaroo miniatures. Gather up at the OK Corral and cheer your favorite over the jumps at the Little Buckaroo horse show. Work sheets reinforce the concepts that are presented. Pack some chuck wagon vittles for lunch and plenty to drink. After lunch, we will roast marshmallows.
